Rolando Hong M.D.

Dr. Rolando Hong graduated Cum Laude from his BS Biology course and was an Entrance Scholar at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine where he earned his medical degree. He also did his Rotating Internship at the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital. At the UMDNJ - New Jersey Medical School, Children's Hospital of New Jersey, Dr. Hong did both his internship in pediatrics and his Residency in Adult Psychiatry. He had his Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York State Psychiatric Institute in NY, NY. His work experience includes: Duty Medical Officer, Philippine Navy; Attending Physician, Samar Provincial Hospital; Staff Physician, HS Systems, Inc. (NY, NY), Staff Psychiatrist/Medical Director, Fairlawn Mental Health Center; Staff Psychiatrist, New Bridge Services, Inc. (Pompton Plains, NJ); Attending Psychiatrist, Wayne General Hospital Medical Center (Wayne, NJ); Attending Psychiatrist, St. Barnabas Medical Center (Livingston, NJ); Staff Psychiatrist, Seacrest Medical Associates, PA at Mount Carmel Guild Behavioral System (Newark, NJ); Staff Psychiatrist, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark (Newark, NJ); Staff Psychiatrist, 1199J Behavioral Health Services (Newark, NJ); Private Practice - Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry (Roseland, NJ). Dr. Hong is licensed to practice medicine both in New Jersey and New York. Among his Awards and Honors are: Edward J. Sachar Award for Clinical Excellence in Child Psychiatry, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center (NY); APA-NIMH Minority Fellowsip Award (Nominee); and Outstanding Intern Award, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Philippine General Hospital. His research projects include: "Systematic Assessment and Flouxetine Treatment in Children with Selective Mutism" and "A Multi-site, Multimodal Intervention for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)"/MTA Study. Dr. Hong is a member of the following professional organizations: American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, New Jersey Psychiatric Association, New Jersey Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and University of the Philippines Medical Alumni Society in America.
